Well I'm sitting in an empty house waiting on my things. Contractually they don't have to arrive for almost a week but I was told by the rep and the driver it would likely be Saturday or Sunday so that's how we packed ourselves and 4 children.

First I spoke with Angela to set all this up. I went thru my house (physically) with her over the phone... "1 twin bed, 1 headboard, a toy box full, a walk in closet full". I told her I was moving 4 kids and 3200 sq. ft. of 6 years worth of house. She gave me a list of the furniture which was accurate but apparently she isn't knowledgeable enough to know how to guess the amount of boxes you will move. More about this later... She gave me a NOT TO EXCEED $4200 quote

Later spoke with Shane... Apparently Angela left or was let go. He explains that since we decided to move in May instead of March the quote would increase to almost $4700. Fine! Busy moving season I kinda get it. He also tells me to check the furniture list and I agree the list is correct. He tells me as long as that is correct we go by the weight.

I got a confirmation call from one guy a week earlier than the move confirming my furniture list and boxes. I told him I had a ton of small boxes that I packed to make easier to move and he said that was fine.

Moving week~ told they would come the later of the 2 days I submitted at noon... seriously... to pick up 2 stories worth of house... Not finished in 1 day of course mainly because they only sent 2 men to pack the truck!!!!

Day the driver leaves~ I'm told that I owe for $880 worth of packing supplies... $400 of that I could have gotten at Lowe's for $40! The driver went over cost of boxes with my husband who was not on the contract while I wasn't there, then hubby left and I mentioned to my MIL he had taken my boxes... The driver says "I have boxes you can use" Not "I have a $.90 box from Lowe's I will charge you $11.25 a piece for while you wait on your hubby!!!!!". And then he wrapped my $2200 set of mattresses in plastic and put my kids $100 twin matt sets in $100 boxes! So 4 sets of cheap twin matts cover in boxes and 30 medium boxes later I'm having to acknowledge an $880 box bill! INSANE!!!!

Then as he leaves I ask about the total. It had jumped from aNOT TO EXCEED balance of $2750 to $8595!!!!! He said I had too much stuff. I pointed out my furniture list was correct and I had sold several large pieces... The part that was misquoted was the boxes even after I told Angela I had a business at home, 4 kids and 3200 sq. ft of stuff later! He told me that the quote he gives me includes the number of items and the space in the van and would likely be adjusted by the weight as well. It will adjust $5850 by the weight?!?!?!?! I was told by Shane they only go by weight and the confirmation guy that many boxes were fine. Now I'm being told it's by the number of things. Honestly, how does a homeowner guess the amount of boxes they will need to pack to get everything in the truck....? Isn't that the reps job to do correctly?!?!?!? He tells me after they weigh the truck that day Shane will call and confirm my cost and they will call me when they are half way and again when they are about 24 hrs. out. It would likely be Saturday or Sunday.

Here I am on Sunday with no phone calls from anyone and no furniture until at least Tuesday now because they are closed for Memorial Day. I sent and email to Shane Friday... No response. Saturday hubby calls the 1-800 number and gets and automated system that says to check on furniture delivery press 4. He gets a rep and she asks to call back after checking with our driver. No call an hour later and we call back. Get another rep and she says they can't update us until Tuesday because the company is closed for the weekend/holiday. If you have deliveries on Saturday and Sunday and a 1-800 number that has a delivery status option shouldn't someone be there that can update you???? Hubby hangs up and I call back raising 9 kinds of hell. We have no cooking supplies, no blankets, no mattresses, minimal clothes because we were told by Shane and the driver likely Saturday or Sunday. The people at the weekend 1-800 number are there to listen and say they are sorry they can't do anything.

I have no clue how much this move is going to cost us or when they are coming or where they are... DO NOT USE NATIONWIDE! I thought these reviews just all looked negative because typically when people leave feedback it's negative. Rarely do people leave positive if there is nothing to complain about. Turns out this really is just a terrible company. Not sure what the outcome will be but we also mentioned to everyone we could only afford the quote~ Moving is extremely expensive and this company will add to the cost however they can AFTER the NOT TO EXCEED PRICE QUOTE!
