A VERY negative experience

AVOID THIS COMPANY.

After purchasing my vehicle out of state, I used autotransportdepot.com to get quotes for shipping my vehicle from Washington to Ohio. I received several quotes ranging from $745 to $1050. I foolishly chose the least expensive one. The entire experience was a negative one. I spent 26 days fearing the worst for my new car.

The original company that I hired was Stateway Auto Transport. Immediately after my vehicle was picked up, Stateway's truck broke down. They then brough in NAO Auto, without my knowledge, to complete the job. After seeing all the negative reviews that NAO has, I would NEVER have used them to transport my vehicle, regardless of the price. The only way I knew of any status was to call. Even then, I had a lot of difficulty getting in touch with anybody and not once did they return a call. When I did get a person on the phone, all I would get is excuses and empty promises of delivery dates. I understand that things can happen on the "open road", but to promise unrealistic timeframes is unethical.

Each contact I had with NAO Auto consisted of excuses and lies. On 4 separate days where they said my car would arrive, I heard nothing from them. It was me having to call them to find out that yet another promised date would not be met. Had they communicated honestly with me and not set unrealistic timeframes, I would not be taking the time to help others avoid an extremely poor experience with this company.

Another commitment that wasn't kept was that I was told I would get a call from the driver to arrange the drop-off a day before he arrived. I received a call from the driver when he was 20 minutes away. Very inconvenient since I needed to arrange a ride to the pickup point.

To top off this negative experience my vehicle arrived with 5 miles driven on it. The driver said this wasn't possible... even as I was looking at the odometer that had 5 more miles on it then when it left the dealership. My guess is that they illegally drove it from the broken down truck to the other replacement.

My suggestion to others planning on having a vehicle shipped is to NOT choose the least expensive quote, and more specifically, DO NOT CHOOSE NAO AUTO.

Based on my recent experience I would strongly suggest that you AVOID THIS COMPANY.
