I'll start by saying Tyler was helpful in navigating this process. That being said, I felt a little preyed on at a vulnerable and stressful time. Here's my situation. I was moving across the country. They told me my car would be picked up within a 3 day window. I inquired- what if it’s not. They assured me it would be as I was going from one large city to another and there were plenty of daily route options. I had a flight on the 4th day and my car was still not picked up. Panic #1. They were able to arrange a route for me on the 5th day, but it was more money. I could wait a few more days to see if there might be a cheaper route option, but then I was going to be paying more for a rental car on the back end. I had to have a friend help me coordinate the logistics of pick up on day 5, when I had already flown across the country. Panic #2: Tyler’s team told me the trunk could be full and the back seat could be packed below the window line. When I spoke with the shipping company, they told me nothing in the back seat. I was already across the country! I had to have a friend go take photos of my car, and what was in the back seat, and with Tyler’s help, they finally OK’d it to ship. Panic #3: I lived in a large city. They told me the car could be picked up from my house, where I left it parked. When the driver called, he said it could not be picked up at the house, because of course they would not be able to get down small city streets. My friend had to meet him at a Walmart a few miles away. When the car finally shipped, the shipping company’s timeline for delivery was 3-4 days later than the original timeline discussed. Thankfully (sort of?), they delivered the car 3 days early. They provided no updates during the week it was being shipped, and called a few hours before it was being delivered to ask if I could accept it. Another panic because I didn’t have the cash or cashiers check on hand. Not sure if it’s the same with all shipping companies, but I was able to pay via Zelle (note, does have transfer limits). Some things I wish I had known: this is a logistics company, so they are at the mercy of the shipping companies they contract with for pricing and timing. They may not be able to get a route in your timeframe for the price they quoted. In my experience, they made it seem totally realistic to have the car picked up in their suggested window. I would give yourself some buffer time on the back end of that in case the car cannot be picked up. If you have some flexibility this would be a far less stressful process!
