Avoid Horseless Carriage if reliability is important to you

I'll let the facts speak for themselves without letting emotion get involved. Let it be stated though that they caused me to miss two large automotive events because of their apathy and tardiness.

**** June 24, 2011 - Order Placed. I was told that the pickup would occur the week of 6/26 (the following week).

**** June 28, 2011 - I called to check in on the status of this pickup and Horseless Carriage said "definitely before 7/2". FIRST PICKUP RESCHEDULE

**** July 2, 2011 - I called to check in on the status of the pickup and Horseless Carriage said "definitely before 7/6". SECOND PICKUP RESCHEDULE

**** July 5, 2011 - I called to check in on the status of the pickup and Horseless Carriage said "definitely 7/6". THIRD PICKUP RESCHEDULE

**** July 6, 2011 - I called to check in on the status of the pickup and Horseless Carriage said "definitely before 7/9." FOURTH PICKUP RESCHEDULE

**** July 9, 2011 - I called to check in on the status of the pickup and Horseless Carriage said "we were supposed to pick it up this weekend?" They finally said "definitely 7/11 or 7/12, probably 7/12". FIFTH PICKUP RESCHEDULE

**** July 12, 2011 - The car is pickup up. I called to ask the status of my delivery ETA and Horseless Carriage said "your car is the last one on, so it will be the first one off. It should arrive in a couple of days."

**** July 14, 2011 - The driver calls me to tell me that Horseless Carriage has re-routed him to his Austin, TX stop before me because that customer wants his car sooner (so did I!!!). FIRST DELIVERY RESCHEDULE

**** July 15, 2011 - The driver calls me to tell me that Horseless Carriage has re-routed him BACK to Dallas, TX (a city he had already driven through on the way South) before my stop. I am now the last stop on the truck and my car has been shuffled in and out of the truck at least twice. SECOND DELIVERY RESCHEDULE

**** July 16, 2011 - The driver arrives and delivers the car. During delivery he repeatedly leans on the car with his hand covered by a towel. I should mention the driver was not a tiny fellow and not someone you would want to be leaning 300+lbs of body weight onto a fiberglass-bodied car.

The only upside of the experience was that the driver was very polite and courteous. This is why they did not get full 1-star from me across the board.

Horseless Carriage is not the same company it used to be. I also question the sincerity of some of the recent 5-star reviews which convinced me to use them. I suspect those reviews have been either "bought" or "planted" because there is no way this is the same company that those reviews speak of.

**** I would strongly advise looking elsewhere and NOT using Horseless Carriage because:

>>Horseless Carriage is unreliable (they blew several committed dates which impacted both my schedule and the seller's schedule multiple times, costing both parties time and money)

>>Horseless Carriage is uncaring (front-office and management were often rude, apathetic to their follies, and rushed)

>>Horseless Carriage is unprofessional (they called me back a total of one time during the course of the 3 week interaction)

>>Horseless Carriage is poorly organized (they over-promise and under-deliver on their core competency)

>>Horseless Carriage is dishonest (their management, website and even the telephone hold message informed me that they guarantee door-to-door service and ultimate care of my property and that my car is never shuffled, etc. and this is clearly not the truth)

I hope this review saves at least a few people from the frustration, wasted time, and stress that was caused to me by Horseless Carriage. Given the price range of this service (with Horseless Carriage being the most expensive then the next two leading specialist carriers by at least $100) these companies need to understand that their purpose is to provide a problem-free, stress-free, reliable experience.

If this continues then I doubt Horseless Carriage will be around much longer.

Good luck
