A little confusion between Hilton and the transporter but everything went very well!

I was very wary of shipping my Volvo XC90 from Thousand Oaks, California to Austin, TX because I had heard horror stories about car transport. I spent a lot of time doing research and was very impressed with the very positive reviews Hilton received. All the transport websites said to be wary of going with the cheapest price but Hilton was the last place I called and they were the cheapest. Nicole was very helpful and suggested a pickup date of November 27 since I wanted the car to arrive within 5 days. I got a little nervous over the Thanksgiving holidays because I realized I had no paperwork about the pickup or numbers to call besides Hilton. I left a message on Thanksgiving and Nicole called me first thing Friday to say the driver would be there on Monday morning and would call me on Sunday to verify a pickup time. I did hear from the driver late Sunday but it was to say he wouldn't be arriving until Wednesday but promised I'd have the car on Friday or Saturday. At that time, I reiterated my address and that I had an SUV which he verified. I called him on Tuesday to ask for an ETA and he said "first thing in the morning" so I said "can you come at 7:30am?" which he said would be no problem. At 8am, I called him to ask when he'd be arriving since he was 30 minutes late. He casually explained that he'd overslept and was in Bakersfield (about 3-4 hours away on a good day). I became extremely frustrated because I had to go to work and would have appreciated if he'd called to let me know he was running very late. He then called back 30 minutes later to say that his dispatcher said it was impossible to make it up my street given the roads which made no sense as we'd had cars picked up from that address since 1979 so I asked the dispatcher call me. When she called, I explained to her how frustrated I was at this point and that I had no choice but to have my parents wait for the driver and if they couldn't pick it up on my street, why wasn't I notified sooner? There were also some differences in the information they received from Hilton on the type of car but there was room for a regular size SUV so it wasn't a problem. The dispatcher and driver stayed in contact with my parents from that point on and she even came by the alternate pickup location to make sure everything went smoothly! On Friday morning, the driver called to say the car would in Austin within an hour - I was shocked. He mentioned that I needed to give him $500 on delivery which Nicole had not told me and since I hadn't received any paperwork, I was unaware of. I would definitely use Hilton and Phillips again - I just know what to ask for now.
