I chose Hilton to transport my 2 cars from San Diego, CA to Gaithersburg, MD because of the positive reviews customers had given Hilton, but I didn't have a good experience. First, the operative (I believe her name was Jenny) told me she would give me 50$ discount as we are transporting 2 cars but didn't take it off, so I had to call back for the credit. On day 14 after the cars had been picked up, I called the company to get the whereabouts of the cars. The representative I spoke with said the cars would arrive by the end of the week (in 3-4 days) and hung up on me while I was trying to convey my disappointment.

The carrier Hilton used was ACE Auto Trans, which the original representative said was a reputable company, but it was not. When I called the carrier directly to track my cars on Tuesday (day 13), the operator said they were in Louisiana and would arrive by Friday or Saturday. When I called ACE Auto again on Friday, they said the cars would arrive Saturday. The driver called Saturday morning and said he would come between 12 pm and 4 pm, so we waited for him all afternoon. At 8:30 pm the driver called again and said he could deliver them in 1 hr, but I refused to accept the cars at night, so he said he would have to reschedule for Monday. The transport time I was quoted was 7-14 days from pick up, but my cars didn't arrive until day 19. The company used July 4th holiday as as excuse!

Sidesline, I work for the Navy and was transferred to Bethesda, MD from San Diego, CA. The movers who moved my household goods picked them up on Saturday 6/28/08 and delivered them on Friday, July 4th. I later found out this moving company also moved cars (at separate charges as the military does not pay for moving cars in CONUS). So, if I have to move again, I would try the household goods moving company if they also move cars.
