For the first time ever I found myself in need of having a vehicle transported instead of picking it up in person and driving it home. My first attempt at getting a price brought forth a deluge of wildly varying automated quotes, some so ridiculously low that they were obviously based on transporting an average-sized car, not a 27 ft. RV as had been specified in the vehicle details. Some of the brokers involved persisted in sending quote after quote and "We have a driver in your area now" messages weeks later (fortunately I always use temporary throw-away email addresses for such things). Having decided to go with a company which seemed reasonable, it soon became apparent that I was being given the runaround while they tried to find a carrier. All I could ever get to queries about progress (and I'm not one to be bugging somebody every day) were replies along the lines of "Don't worry, we're working on it," with absolutely no indication of the job being allocated to a carrier, much less any idea of when collection would be. After a few weeks I decided to cancel and try again on a different site. Within a few minutes I received a call from Dave Maier at Get-It-Done Transportation. Dave was polite and helpful, took the time to confirm precise details about the RV, and was happy to spend time explaining options even if I were to end up going elsewhere. Yes, the quote was higher than I had received from the first agent, a quote which I have now learned was very under-priced for the type of vehicle and distance involved. I decided to go with Get-It-Done, and Dave had a carrier lined up and booked within a couple of days, kept me informed all the way, and always returned my calls quickly whenever I had a question. Should I ever need a vehicle transported again in the future, I would certainly go back to Get-It-Done.
