MN to CA Move

I have a Mercedes GLK350 (small SUV) that I needed moved from Minnesota to California. I decided to go with Get It Done Transportation because of the reviews I read online...

The Positives:

- Vehicle was shipped on time - I think delivered early actually! - and in perfect condition.

- The personal level of customer service, which I think is the advantage that you get with a small family-run company. I worried a lot beforehand because once they confirmed, I looked up the company that they were using and I couldn't find much history or solid reviews - plus the website they referenced was one with "Lorum Ipsum" instead of actual writing. So I called Kat to express my concerns and was considering pulling out / cancelling my order but Kat not only repeatedly reassured me that this was a company they had done longtime business with (including SUVs) and even with a recent order that went fine, but she also had their main manager David Pein call me as well to let me know his level of experience with the company that was moving my car as well as his confidence in them. He also sent other references of recent moves with this company that went well so that I could follow up with them directly if needed. So I would say he and Kat went above and beyond to assuage my fears. After speaking with them both, I decided to take a chance and it all went 100% smoothly. I appreciate how honest and upfront they were, and how they were also willing to take responsibility if anything went wrong.

- The driver that picked my car up was so courteous - I think he probably spoke to Dave beforehand and Dave told him to take good care of me since he knew I was so nervous! I had a prior experience with a different company where the driver delivered to my Dad and ended up being very rude to me very zen, gentle father who was doing me huge favor by picking up my car for me when I couldn't be there. Well again because of my move and travel, I couldn't be there when the car was delivered so my Dad again picked it up for me. I expressed how important it was for them to treat my Dad with respect and make it a nice experience for him especially since he was doing me this favor, and this time they did.

- They were able to guarantee THE DAY of pick-up which was oh so important to me as time was really tight with my move

The "Things That Could Be Improved"

- More information, it's something that could have alleviated my concerns if this level of information was provided upfront. There were links to ratings that didn't work, insurance info. was just the company name, insurance limit and deductible - but no information provided on what is/isn't covered within the policy. More details there would be great. The e-mail confirmation referenced a document pack but I never received documents, and in my many follow ups to receive the documents, all I got was the same e-mail and never actual documents.

- The website of the company the moved my car - www.interstateroadrunner.com - is still not fully updated. The homepage looks good but once you click on the links, it either takes you to fake copy or doesn't click through at all. I would suggest to this company to fully update their website - it's one of those things that customers will click to and will provide reassurance, especially if you can get some positive customer reviews on the site.

- The driver who picked up my car kept stating that he was told it was a sedan, but it was clear in all my paperwork and the confirmations I received that I have a GLK350 so the communication on my end was clear. Should have been transferred over better from dispatch to actual carrier.

- They told me they could do it for $800 and then later called and said the carrier asked for it to be more, so I accepted the $995 fee but I chose them initially because they were in the $800 range. I would ask them to be better on the quote they can guarantee upfront.

These are not complaints as my experience ended up being fine and smooth at the end of the day, just the room for improvement suggestions that I'm sure a small company such as this would appreciate. These are the things that would have alleviated my concerns prior to the actual shipment. My feeling is that with my pointing it out, these things will ultimately be addressed for future customers. We guarantee our prices here, your initial quote was a tad lower because the system generated the quote as a sedan not large SUV, this was told to you immediately before a order was put in.
