Simply, I requested a transportation service on CarGuru website, and was instantly flooded with about 15 different initial offers... I decided to go with Garcias-Auto-Transport and Logistics. Since this was my first time moving a car, I did not realize that most of the offers received are brokers, and not necessarily the transport company that dealt with moving the car themselves. The broker then has a list of transport service companies they can call, based upon prices the customer "aka me" was willing to pay and regions of travel. I feel that Florida to Maine is a very long distance, so my payment was apx. $1300 for he transporter, and a $300 agent fee... The $1300 i could totally see, but adding a $300 dollar broker fee for a couple of phone calls I believe was a bit much... Regardless, after the agreed service, the car was picked up within 24 hours from purchase location and arrived in about 5 days. To be honest I was quote a particular day for delivery, which was extended an additional day, but I was not worried because I understand the logistics of transporting multiple cars with different delivery points, which take considerable time to unload... and drivers do have national standards to adhere to such as mandatory rest periods. If anybody is frustrated that a delivery can not occur on a particular day or timing because they have busy schedules and most can not drop everything they are doing... work, school ect for a potential auto delivery that the timing is not totally planned.
Overall thought, the car did arrive safely, in a timely manner, and the price was mostly reasonable for the distance traveled, and that's what anybody who does this sort of thing should expect. Not disappointed at all, and am satisfied!
