I inquired through several different companies for a price quote to have a car shipped from Michigan to Oklahoma on a Sunday. I did not really expect to get quotes back until Monday when business would be open. To my surprise, Flat Rate Shipping sent a quote within the hour. Once other quotes started coming in, their standard and expedited shipping seemed to be MUCH less than any others at $169 and $229. They did however have an enclosed shipping quote on teh e-mail for $550. That was the option I was interested in. I called and Jason Haynes answered the phone. I told him I was calling about my quote and to see what needed to be done to start the process. He said "Oh...you're one of those...you got a bad quote, or computers have been sending those out. Hang on....I'll get you the right one". He said the comuter was leaving off the last didgit on quotes so the real quotes would be $664 for both standard and enclosed. I told him I actually had canceled other quotes this morning and deleted the e-mails as I had decided to go with this company, mostly based on the previous reviews and take the enclosed shipping for $550. He could not have been more rude, that computers have issues and that is just life? I asked to speak to his supervisor and after a few expletives, he told me he was the owner. I told him how frustrating as a customer I felt having relied on their quotes and telling other companies I would not be doing business with them, and would like to go with the enclosed shipping. He said "We dont need or want your business". I was shocked, I as teh customer have done nothing wrong here and do to some extend understand the computer issue (if that is in fact what happened). But would you not think as a business owner he would have said "We are sorry, if you'd like the enclosed shipping we would be happy to honor the $550 quote and eat the $114? Maybe I cought him at a bad time or he's just that way with everyone, but there are plenty of others I have spoken to today who seemed to appreciate and want my business. I will go with them.
