I was quoted $725 to ship a car from JAX to SFO. I signed and paid $175 "deposit" to get my car moved. The driver showed up on monday even though 5 towns told me it would be saturday. The car was delivered by friday as promised but I only brought $550 to pay the driver as per my contract. The driver said no that it was for $650. At that point he pulls out his computer and pulls up the webpage (he had a wireless card) and shows me the job. Indeed it was for $650. Of course 5 towns says nothing to me about this and I haven't been able to get anyone there to respond to me. It is only $100 over what I was quoted and about the same as most of the other quotes I was given.

As far as I can tell the way this company operates is that they underbid everyone else and then they attempt to find a driver for your car. When no one will do it for their price they bid it out higher and leave you holding the bag at the end. The driver will show up expecting more money than you were quoted and you have no option but to pay to get the car. After that 2 towns goes silent. They stop returning calls and emails. The customer support mailbox is full so you can't leave messages with them and Steve Basso who was responsive before I paid hasn't responded to voicemail or email since.
