Never found a carrier and kept my deposit

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. I HAVE FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. Express auto was unable to find a carrier at all and kept my $195 deposit despite telling me I would receive my deposit back. I wanted to transport my car from San Diego to Boston. They quoted me a $995 price and took a $195 deposit. They recommended a June 15 "availability date" for my June 30 move to Boston stating that they can find a carrier quickly. As June 30 neared, they kept saying they would find a carrier any day now and that I could not receive a my deposit back unless they could not find a carrier after 15 days of the availability date. They never found carrier and I was forced to find another transporter the day before I moved for a very high price (as it was last second, immediate pickup). I called on June 30 and they said I was entitled to my $195 deposit back and my credit card would be credited. My credit card never got credited. I called customer service on July 15 and they told me I would have to call accounting. Whenever I called accounting, I was get a message that said they were away and to leave a message, however, the mail box was full. After several attempts and as it had been nearly 2.5 weeks, at this point, I called customer service again and asks to speak to a manager. They said I was entitled to the $195 and that a manager would call me and take care of the issue. However, they said the manager was busy working on "something big with the company" but they would call me back that day. I never received a call and never received my deposit. So not only were they unable to provide any services and transport my car, they have had my $195 deposit since May and have kept it. AVOID THESE PREDATORS

Express Auto Transport regrets that Al was not happy with his experience. Al selected a standard transport, which does not guarantee pick up or delivery dates. We do offer services that guarantee the pick up date. Al chose not to select this service. He was given the normal timeframes for a move of his distance.
