Lowest is not always best

My Nissan Xterra arrived with a cracked windshield ($260 to repair) and a cracked side mirror ($30). Express Auto and subcontractor refused to pay for glass damages due to their terms and conditions. I would have selected another better carrier had I known that their insurance covered collision repairs only. Express Auto does not make that clearly visable on their web site when they say they are insured for transport damages.

Mr. Ehland, while Express Auto Transport regrets the damage your vehicle sustained, we must dispute your complaint regarding the communication of our insurance coverage. Insurance coverage is clearly outlined. In fact, it appears within the FAQ section on our web site. If there was a question about the insurance coverage, Mr. Ehland could have either called and asked or simply searched the web site to find this information. There is no way that we can anticipate every question of every customer. And Mr. Ehland’s unwillingness to seek out this information was a contributing factor to his negative experience. The majority of customers take responsibility and seek out information in order to be educated consumers. Insurance coverage is an important consideration. And it is not only challenging but also very costly to find transport companies that are willing to take on liability for all damages. The policies that Express Auto Transport has in place meet the needs of the majority of transport customers. Additionally, if there are special cases that require additional insurance, customers are welcome to speak to our Transport Specialists to determine if those arrangements can be made. Ultimately, our goal is to meet the needs of our customers, but we can’t meet a need that we are not made aware of.
