I contracted with Express Auto Transport to pick up my vehicle in Sunnyvale, California and ship it to South Jordan, Utah on June 17, 2008. They took my money and sent me a notice that the car would be picked up within the next 12-24 hrs and shipped to me by June 20th. They failed to give any advance notice to the dealership that they were picking the car up, (it said in the email the driver would be contacting them and would give them 12-24 hours notice). It didn't happen. He showed up without notice and the car was getting detailed. That was June 20th. It is now July 2nd and I still have no car. They re-dispatched on Monday, June 30th, and undispatched this morning (July 2nd) because the truck broke down. So for ten days in the interim, there were no carriers that could transport this car.
So when AND IF you hire these guys - JUST REMEMBER.... THEY TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY OF GETTING THE JOB DONE AFTER THEY TAKE YOUR DEPOSIT. Read the contract and read it good.... they take absolutely no responsibility for anything -

Good Luck.

Express Auto Transport is particularly alarmed to receive a review with such harsh accusations. The details of this particular transport are an unfortunate and rare occurrence. Allow us to address each of the issues from this complaint. 1.) When pick-up is at a dealership, the driver is instructed to make sure that the pick-up occurs when someone is on-hand to hand over the vehicle. In this case, the driver did obtain the dealership’s hours of operation. He was not aware that the vehicle could be scheduled for detailing. If Express Auto Transport had been notified of the potential scheduling conflict, arrangements could have been made to avoid it. 2.) Express Auto Transport did dispatch a truck on two separate occasions and both times there were unforeseen difficulties. Occasionally, variables occur that are outside of our control, including truck breakdowns, weather, driver illness, etc. When these inconveniences occur, our transport specialists work diligently to find alternate means to make the transport happen in the most timely and cost-effective way. Unfortunately, sometimes the customer is unsatisfied because things did not go as smoothly as they had anticipated. But even in situations that are undesirable, Express Auto Transport remains accountable and focuses on finding the best possible solution in the midst of difficulties.
