Lost delivery

I received 1 out of 2 large boxes and they sent confirmation everything was delivered. Every time I called to inquire, I got a different answer. The first time they said it might hve been too heavy to deliver since it was over 1,000 lbs and that they would get bacck to be within an hr. Nope. Called the next morning and they said their person was on the docks currently and would call back in 2-3 hrs. Nope. Called again and this person said they would get back to me by mid-next week. When I inquired further they said to take it up with Lowes and go through them. It feels very helpless that there is no true process for lost deliveries and it is all on the receiving person to be proactive. I would be out $4k if I didn't pursue this. They just mark it in their systems as delivered and go on their merry way!
