Driver took car for unauthorized drive

In short, their driver held my car hostage, demanding more money during transit, then proceeded to drive my car without authorization which I found out when I received the toll notice violations. Generally a terrible experience, and I would not recommend using this company. During scheduling and prior to pick up, I received a fair quote and the guys with Easy Auto Ship seemed to be organized. Once the car was picked up, the trouble quickly began. One of the drivers they contracted with contacted me directly because the EAS guys gave the wrong address/zip code combination to the driver so the driver was mad he didn't have the right information, yet he refused to contact EAS and instead contacted me. The driver said he wasn't paid and needed an immediate cash transfer or else he would take off with my car and go to his next delivery, and could not tell me if/when he would be able to drop my car again. Turns out EAS set up payment to this driver as cash on delivery and didn't tell us that we had to pay the guy directly, even though he was passing the car to another driver for another leg of the trip. Another mistake of many EAS made. I finally agreed to pay the driver personally what he was owed in hopes he would drop the car. After he received money, he immediately insists he is owed an additional $100 because of all the additional time it took him. (I should have called the police at this point.) During this whole time, EAS was telling us not to pay the driver anything, but at the same time they were doing absolutely nothing to get my car released to the next driver. I did finally receive my car after a lot of inconveniences and irate phone calls from the driver, only to learn that the same driver drove my car for at least 45 minutes as detailed on time stamps of the toll invoices I received a couple of months later. EAS has refunded only part of the fees I paid them only after I threatened legal action for breach of contract. I would never trust them with transporting any of my property in the future; other options may cost more but it is well worth the money if you can avoid the hassles I experienced.
