I had a major issue with another broker getting my vehicle picked up. Loretta at Door to Door continued to stay in contact with me so I gave her a call. In a matter of a couple minutes she gave me a 2-day window for pick-up. It was picked up on time. A couple issues I had were #1 - When I asked about the delivery date so I could plan my schedule, I was given a date of approximately 8 days after pick-up which was fine. However, about 6 hours later the actual dispatcher for the truck driver called and gave me the actual delivery date of 2 days after pick-up. I was pleasantly surprised. However, it shows that there is a clear disconnect between the broker and the actual transport company. #2 - This is more of an industry complaint than about a specific company. After I submitted my request for quote I received no less than 40 emails/phone calls/voice mails from the various companies wanting my business. I appreciate the agressiveness in trying to obtain the order and fully understand the competitiveness of this business. With that said, not one of the emails requested any additional information about the vehicle which ultimately led to the issue with the aforementioned first broker. My vehicle has taller tires and a lift kit and the first driver that showed up refused to haul it claiming that it was "too wide." That was not the case because it was ultimately delivered on a standard open carrier ONLY AFTER I paid an additional $200 above what I was initially quoted. Since I am not a broker or truck driver, I do not know what affects a vehicle being picked up or how much it costs and there was not a place that I saw to add additional information about the vehicle on the initial quote request I filled out. I do know this though, if I were in this business, I would be sure to ask if there are any alterations to the vehicle particuarally if I were going to send numerous emails asking for the order.
