We shipped 2 cars (separately) via Domestic Auto Transport from Hawaii to San Diego.

On the Hawaii end, we were responsible for dropping the cars off at Mattson a week before the ship sailed (they go into enclosed containers and take a long time to be loaded onto the ship once the cars are dropped off by the customer at the port near Honolulu). Since Mattson sails into Long Beach, not San Diego, Domestic arranges the transport between Long Beach and San Diego on an open truck. It's my understanding that the drivers of those trucks don't work for Domestic, they're just contracted out.

Both cars arrived dirty, with stickers on them and stuff written on the windows but with no damage (the important thing to us). We weren't given a definite day on which the car we be delivered so had to rent a car with a flexible return date. A couple of days before delivery we were told when the cars would arrive. On the day of delivery we were told what time the cars would arrive. The first car was hours late and the driver didn't really keep us appraised of the schedule so we were stuck waiting around for it. The second car was pretty much on time and the driver had better customer service skills (and command of english).

I was satisfied and would use Domestic Auto Transport again. Most of their involvement with our shipping was just organizing the people who were actually transporting the vehicles, but Malia was very pleasant about my repeated calls to ask "Is it here yet?" and she called to make sure they both arrived okay.
