My experience with Domestic Auto Transport was an absolute nightmare, and I cannot suggest strongly enough that you hire one of the many other quality services listed on this website. I made a reservation with Rhonda to move my car to Alaska for $1,135. She told me I could keep my Thule on the car while it was being transported. She then took my credit card and secured the reservation. She sent me my copy of the contract, and I planned the rest of my move based on this reservation. About a week later, after I had made many other plans based on this agreement, Kimberly sent me an email informing me that MY PRICE HAD MORE THAN DOUBLED, and would now cost $2,500. She also informed me that it would cost even more if I wanted to keep the Thule on the car. Neither Rhonda nor Kimberly would return my calls for weeks after I received that email. Since we had what I believe to be a legal contract for Domestic Auto Transport to transport my car under the initial agreement for $1,135, I considered bringing legal action. However, a clause on the contract (yes, the same contract they violated) states that any action has to be brought in Oregon, which ultimately made it not worth my while. Instead, I cancelled plane tickets and hotel reservations I made based on my contract with Domestic Auto Transport, and decided to hire a more honest and reliable company listed on this website. Please do not use this service. This website was created to prevent this sort of dishonest and possibly illegal behavior from moving companies – where they give you a price, send you a contract, double the price, and say you either have to pay it, change all your plans you have spent months making, or seek a legal remedy in a distant jurisdiction. Domestic Auto Transport is a scam! There are dozens of honest and reliable moving companies listed on this site, leave this page immediately and hire one of those companies – or risk having your price doubled just before your move.
