I shipped my car from NY to CA, and the price was competitive for door to door service with DAS... my car was picked up from my house on the 13th, the estimated time of arrival was the 28th, which was longer than other companies. However, I overlooked this since I had been referred to this company by two good friends.
Well, the 29th comes and goes... So I look online at the order status tracker, and apparently, the car hadn't moved from the last time I checked it. The arrival date had been changed to the 30th.
the 31st: I look online AGAIN, and the car STILL hasn't moved, I haven't received a phone call from DAS, explaining why my car isn't here, and now, the estimated arrival date is the February 3rd.
I call DAS, deal with their automated system, which hangs up on me... twice. I finally get a hold of a very rude representative, who informed me that the truck had broken down in New Mexico a few days ago, it was supposed to be back on the road yesterday, but they don't know why it hasn't moved. I explained that I have a job, I can't just sit around every day waiting for my car to get here, what am I supposed to do without transportation, I need my car. I was informed that EVERYONE who had their car on that truck needed their car, and that break downs happen... which I understand, but a professional phone call would be nice. She took down my information and I was assured I would get an update when they had news. So today, the 2nd, I look online, and the car has moved a bit closer, but not ONCE have I received a phone call from anyone at DAS about it, and the car is supposed to get here today. Which neither my husband or I will be home due to work, cause some people can't sit around for a week.. So, let there be one issue with the drop off, and all hell will break loose.
I will NEVER recommend this company to anyone. There are many other reliable companies out there who will do the same job, within a timely manner, and will take the time to be professional and courteous when things come up. Business is word of mouth, and my vote is a goner.
Hopefully, I get my car in one piece, and still fully operational... If I even get it at all.
