So my conclusion is that shipping a car that you care about is going to be an ordeal- there are so many factors out of your control, including the companies needs and weather. But what I really want to talk about is that even though the whole process is painful, the bottom line is does the company help you out when things go a little sideways? For me there was some mis-communication about a particular aspect of my vehicle pick-up and basically I was in a very tough situation where I wasn't going to be able to pick up my car.
In a nutshell I needed to swap the wheels from the car I was dropping off to ship with the wheels from the vehicle I had shipped here and was picking up. I was told that DAS could do that for me, but when I arrived I discovered that they could not. I was really hosed. Kevin, whom I take to be the man in charged tried a few different ways to help me and nothing panned out. Finally he went out and got a flatbed, put my arriving car on it, and I followed him to a tire store (that he called and made arrangements with) and dropped it there so that they do the wheel swap. He really didn't have to do this, but because the mis-communication involved his employees he really went out of his way, literally, to make it work for me. Hey, it wasn't perfect but I really appreciated that he was willing to "saddle up" and help me out of the jam I was in. I call that great customer service and I really appreciate and thank Kevin for making a pretty tough situation workable.
