Outrageously BAD service

Very UnHappy Customer Submitted this review about Dependable Auto Shippers

Everything started out well. United Van Lines recommended DAS and were told they were the best available. We started with Janis Pope, who assured me that I had all coverages needed, they were they very best available and we would be very happy. We were at the mercy of cell phones, since everything was packed up and turned over our autos. All appeared fine, but I am very glad that I waxed both cars and took photos prior to shipping, as I needed them to PROVE we did not have damage to our cars before the shipment.

We paid for total insurance coverage, so no out-of-pocket expenses. We paid for enclosed coverage. We were assured our vehicles would arrive in same condition as when they were picked up..

The first arrived in the time frame discussed, we thought all was going well. The delivery arrived on an open multi-car carrier, scraped on the passenger side, broken side miirror and a muddy, scratched mess! The driver said they did not have an enclosed carrier here and begged us to not report the damage to the company- -it was his first week!

We spent 4 months proving our case, getting cited to have the mirror fixed by local law enforcement, before DAS agreed to pay a portion of the price which did not cover the cost of the repairs. They did not ever pay to clean or take out the scratches that occurred during the transport. After 3 months, we finally had to threaten to file suit prior to getting a check that was even lower than they agreed!

DO NOT USE this company. 1. The sales agent, Janis Pope lied about the ability to provide enclosed services and that she issued full replacement or damage coverage 2. They delivery person would have done anything for us not to file with the company 3. Zachery Patterson was an awful adjuster who insinuated that we lied about the damage, requiring us to send the original photos, implied that the scratches caused by the driver that coensided with the damage to the mirror were caused by us after the delivery and, therefore, were not the responsibility of DAS, he also tried to deduct 200 dollars from our payment by saying that there was a slight scratch on the mirror before delivery and that paying for a new mirror would result in a "betterment", which meant that
DAS did not want to pay for replacing the mirror because it would improve the vehicle (a betterment). and kept us waiting more than 60 days to try to wear us down, 4. His supervisor, Amanda McCrum was rude, accusatory and not helpful at all, 5. After agreeing to the payment, nothing was received and required further contact to move to action, after another month,

Today is December 31, 2009 and we finally got a check (not sure if it is good) for partial damages. This process started on August 6, 2009 and we have logged more than 80 hours of interaction with this incompetent company.
