I placed a order with DAS and they where ontime to pick up the car. The guy that they sent to pick up the car did the initial inspections and marked the bill of lading up as if the car was damaged every where. I believe this was done so no one would have to take responsibility for any damages that could have occured. The dealer ship that I purchased the car from would not release the car because the drive would not specify what damage was being marked up. This cost me $150 because DAS charged me for a dry run fee. I contacted DAS and tried to get sometype of explanation why their driver would mark up the BOL and not be able to explain it. The only thing the five different people could tell me is that they trust their drivers judgement. Never the less I canceled my order with DAS and went with another transport company (VZ Transport) and they picked the car up within 2 days and had it to me in 5 days. When I received the car it did not have scratch and it was in perfect condition.

Anyone using DAS should be very careful that the bill of lading is marked correctly due to the fact they are trying to cover themselves because they have to move the car from terminal to terminal. This means that it is not on a dedicated carrier.

Unfortunately, there are some poeple in the world that are looking for any chance to file a claim. These people take advantage of even the smallest damage being missed on the origin inspection so they can profit from a claim at destination. As a result, DAS must do thorough inspections to protect themselves against this small minority. Regrettably, some honest customers (like James) can often feel that these thorough inspections are being done as CYA rather than as legitimate protection against an unscrupulous few.
