Spent Christmas without my car!

I wish I would've read this site before going with Dependable Auto Shippers. Knowing better, I certainly will NOT choose this company the next time I decide to ship my vehicle. My 1999 Ford Mustang shipped from San Jose, CA to Norfolk, VA, via door-to-door delivery. When I first called DAS to arrange my car's pickup date, they required I pay the money upfront. I should've recognized this as a red flag, but heck, the reviews on DAS's site made these guys sound like patron saints. So I left all doubts behind and paid em right then ($1000) over the phone. I later realized my mistake. It sat at the nearest terminal in San Leandro, CA for an extended amount of time, then, early one morning (using their online tracker, which is indeed useful) it popped up in Stafford, Texas. BUT, it remained in Stafford....for quite a while. Eventually, my car departed Stafford, and that's when things started picking up. I would check on my car throughout the day, and each time I'd check it, my car would be in a different city or state, getting closer and closer to its final destination. When my car finally arrived back to me, Christmas had already past (expected 12/22, arriving on 12/30- not having a car during the holidays was very inconvenient!), and 8 days later than expected. 25 DAYS is how long it took total. It should NOT take a car that long to ship from coast-to-coast, regardless of a holiday in between. Fortunately, there were no new scratches or dings to my car! And everything inside was left intact, even the tools I kept in the trunk! Thanks DAS, but that was the first and last time I will be shipping with you.

PROS: Online tracker is very useful and provides updates.
CONS: I don't like being told that my car is going to arrive at a specific date, only to arrive LATE. And you should never have to pay upfront for these type of things.

As mentioned elsewhere on this site, DAS offers standard, guaranteed and exipeditied transit options. The standard option, although cost effective, does not include a guaranteed transit time, but merely an ETA. For any customer needing a guaranteed delivery date, DAS recommends opting for either guaranteed transit or expedited transit for a modest upcharge.
