great customer service, but not so dependable

This is the 5th time I have used DAS. Up to this time I have had pretty positive experiences and I count that on the fact I did not need my car to arrive on a certain date.

I booked this move a week before I intended to move. I paid extra for guaranteed delivery because I needed my vehicle when I moved into my new house. I booked my move online. I entered my phone number correctly but someone in DAS copied it wrong and could not contact me. I did not get an email saying they could not reach me until 2 days before my scheduled move. I called DAS and left a message with my correct phone number. There were issues with the contracted pick up towing company who told me they did not have my vehicle in their system and could not pick up my car until 4 days after my scheduled move. They then told me they would charge me an extra $300 for overtime fees because I could not meet with them before 5PM.

I called Johnny at DAS who did a great job of getting someone at the origin site to pick up my car after 5PM.

I called for an update on my car about a week later and was told the car was only a day or two from the destination.

I did not hear anything from DAS and the day my car was supposed to come rolled around and I still did not hear anything. I called DAS and was told the truck that had my car broke down and they were suppose to be getting the part they needed that day. I asked for an update the following day. I called back the following day and spoke to Susan. Susan told me she would call me the following day with an update because she could not reach the person who knew the status of my car. Susan did call the following day and told me my vehicle would be at the destination terminal that night. The following day I was called and told my vehicle would be dropped off between 11AM and 1PM. I did not get my car until 2:20PM.

All in all my vehicle was picked up late, did not get to me on the guaranteed delivery date, and was late the day I did get my vehicle. The customer service was very good though. I would use DAS again, but I would be very hesitant to use them if I really needed my car on a certain date.

DAS has researched this move and it looks like the incorrectly entered phone numbers caused significant problems with the pick up. However, DAS covered the additional fees to allow for the after hours pick up. Unfortunately, by the time the car was picked up, it had already missed the truck it was originally assigned to. Notes indicate that our best efforts to still meet the original due date were hampered by a truck break down that required parts to be ordered.
