I heard about DAS from our relocation consultant who had personally used the service. We had two vehicles (Elantra and Yaris) shipped from San Diego to Grand Rapids. We booked about 3 months ahead and I was satisfied that the price (979/vehicle) was competitive or better than other companies I contacted.

We dropped our cars off at the depot in San Diego. Not the best experience - it was a towing yard about 30min from our house, and there was no waiting room where we could wait with our daughter and luggage for the person who was picking us up. This of course wouldn't be an issue if you have someone pick up the vehicle from your home. The staff were professional and quick with the check-in.

We had the vehicles delivered to our new home in Michigan. They arrived on time, though the company could not guarantee beforehand which day they would be delivered (we did not pay extra for the guarantee, which we could have done). That meant we needed to be on call over a range of days but that was fine in our circumstance. You can sign a waiver to let someone else receive the vehicles if you personally cannot.

The delivery driver was very friendly and honest about the fact that the battery was dead on one of the vehicles. It wasn't clear to us why - it could have been that a light got turned on in transport or something, but it may have just been time to get a new battery. He had tried to charge the battery a couple of times but we ended up having to replace it. The other car had some grease stains on the seat but those came out. Neither vehicle had any damage to the exterior.

All in all, a pretty good experience. Mostly we were relieved that both vehicles made it on time and in one piece without significant damage.
