I spent days searching the internet and reading reviews but it all amounted to a big waste of time. My wife suggested I call AAA for a referral. Despite the poor reviews I saw concerning this company, AAA reassured me if anything happened they would be my advocate. I was convinced and AAA sold me a contract to have this company haul my car “Door to Door” from California to Virgina for $1100. The Bill of Lading stated specific addresses of origin and destination.
I was lucky I had AAA write the contract because once they got my car they were not interested in “Door to Door” or the “Destination” on the Bill of Lading. They wanted to deliver it to a Target parking lot that was within a mile or two radius of the destination. I was stressed imagining my daughter in a strange town having to take a cab in order to meet up with a truck driver in a remote Target parking lot just outside of Washington DC. My daughter was stressed also after the truck driver tried to intimidate her into accepting delivery in a remote parking lot. He continued to call her as he approached Virgina for two days. She said, "Dad, he was not happy with me. What’s going to happen to my car if I don’t meet him” she exclaims.

I called the company and the dispatcher would not honor his commitments. The day before he said the car would be delivered to a regional location and my daughter notified and an appointment setup for delivery by a traditional flatbed truck for delivery to the address on the Bill of Lading. Now they claimed that by law they were only required to deliver it within an X mile radius of the location on the Bill of Lading and if I wanted it delivered to the address on the Bill of Lading it would be more money.

I was fuming. I simmered for a while, took a long walk, and decided I was not going to be the one to put my daughter in a possible dangerous situation with a “Cross Country Driver” I didn’t know. I wasn’t going to make her take a cab to a Target parking lot and wait in a vacant part of that lot for this driver. Not me.

I called AAA and they were shocked! It took some time and a lot of stress but AAA got it delivered per contract.
My recommendation is to go through your insurance agent because alone you have no leverage.
