I'm not sure what has happened with DAS-I have used them in the past with very few problems. This last time was the absolute worse! They picked up my 2013 VW Convertible Beetle on time. But then left it sitting in its lot for 7 days until it was put on a carrier. I know this because I tracked it-even their tracking system has been minimilized-they had "real time" tracking before-not it is limited to basically "at the holding yard" or "on its way" and "reached the holding yard nearest to you." I was out-of-town when my car arrived-our babysitter signed for it but wrote that the car was too filthy to tell if it had been harmed during shipment. I get home a few days later, then a day or so after that I washit and low and behold I see two large rub spots on the back-the exact same size as if I belt were rubbing it while the car was shifting during transport. They rub marks were down to the bone of the car. No problem right? I have a great relationship with DAS. NOt-so much. I call-they don't call me back. I call again-a mean spirited service person said they will email me the form when they get a chance. How long does it take to email a form? I finally get it and I have to run around, take photos, get estimates. Will I be reimbursed for my wasted time. I take it to the shop and the guy immediate recognizes the damages as wear and tear from shipping. I get everything to DAS and they deny my claim! They said I took too long to report it (5 days). I was appalled. This car is a few months old! There was no damage when they picked it up, but they said I could have damaged it in the 5 days I had it! I'm not sure how I would damage this car in this manner if I was getting paid for it. Kathy Loredo, handled my case and was not kind, or understanding-she kept repeating that the contract I signed said this was protocol! I asked to speak to her manager-the manager never called back but Kathy later said they would reconsider the claim if I sent in more pics. I did so. The same day they approved my claim on "good faith"-but here is the kicker-my claim was for 500.00 they said I had a 250.00 deductible! I don't have enough money to restore my car to the shape that I handed it over to them! Between the bad customer service and lengthy waiting periods I will never use this company again. I have 3 more cars that need to be shipped (sons going to college, moving one to our summer home, returning the VW back to it's original spot)-I will give them a piggy back ride before I use Dependable Auto Shippers again!
