This review is from 2009, but is still relevant, so that other people do not get screwed over by DAS, or their contracted carrier. I had previously used DAS to ship a car terminal to terminal without issue. I thought I would use them again, but this time I wanted the vehicle shipped door to door. No one informed me that door to door would be a contracted carrier, or I would not have used them. As it was, the car was to be picked up in Florida, and delivered to Indiana. We were supposed to be given at least 24 hours notice on each end, but it was 6 hours or less. Luckily I was not out of town for work. When the vehicle was picked up in Florida, the previous owner took pictures, and that is when I saw that it was a different trucking company. Ruehles was the name, but I can not find them on here. Maybe they are under another name now. I found them when I looked on here before, and there were two reviews, both bad. When I went to pick up the car, it was still secured in the trailer. When the driver opened the doors, it was obvious that he did not have the car secured properly, as it had turned sideways. The right front bumper was up against the trailer side, and the left rear bumper was up against the side, which had pushed the rear bumper into the body on the side. The driver said he had been running fast to make good time, but he had not paid enought attention to securing the car properly. I made the driver write on the ticket, all of the damaged areas. This car had a nice paint job, and the bumpers were straight with no issues. Both bumpers would have to be redone, and the lower quarter repainted. The estimate was just over 2500.00. I first contacted Ruehles, and gave them the estimate. Then, I could never talk to anyone again. I went to DAS, and they would contact Ruehles, but they did not want to pay that amount. In the end, DAS had contracted them to do the work, but since DAS did not do the move, they would not pay either. I had to turn this into my insurance company. I will never use DAS again, as they never informed me of a contract carrier, and then when the contract carrier would not pay, they would not either. I will make sure I steer everyone away from DAS.
