I arranged for DAS to pick up and deliver a used 1969 Rolls Royce from Greenwich Village to Babb, Montana, where I would then drive it through customs after having done all the paperwork.
DAS was willing to help and promised that the vehicle would be picked up on an open trailer and towed 25 miles to Linden,NJ. There it would be loaded on an ENCLOSED trailer and sent to Babb remaining on enclosed transport.
I paid extra for expedited service and was assured that it would arrive on or before Dec03,08. A few days prior I checked with the tracking and it said the Rolls was in the final terminal. I contacted the terminal and they stated that the car would be in Babb by the 3rd. Double checking on the 2nd (because I have to make arrangements to get to pick up point) I was told they had vehicular problems. Anyway, the car arrived late on the 5th and came in full of ice, snow and road grime...it was on an open trailer and arrived 2 days after the expedited date which I paid considerably extra for.
DAS sent a customer feedback questionnaire which I filled out and I let them know that I was quite dissatisfied with their service. I called their office and reported to John. He put me in touch with their customer service people who sounded shocked and promised a partial refund. I wrote Carmen Vinton and explained in detail what went on and have heard nothing from them since.
I would not refer them to anyone because they were happy to talk to me before they got my money but have completely ignored me since. They promised enclosed haulage and I didn't get that. They promiseda partial refund. I didn't get that.
Sincerely
