After researching the considerations for the transportation of a 2007 Scion TC from Portland, Oregon to Raleigh, North Carolina. Requests were submitted via email and multiple quotes were obtained. The quotes came in the form of telephone calls from "business" representatives that appeared to operate from their living room couch. The screaming baby and spinning washer dryer in heard the background was a dead give away. The price for the transportation service hovered right around the $1200.00 mark. No delivery guarantees they said. They advised that they were brokers and not actual carriers. The more you pay, they said, the better your chances are of having the vehicle at the destination when you arrive. In other words, they, the broker, ATTEMPT to provide the service you pay for. The money they take goes toward an auction that could or could not possibly get your vehicle to the destination in a timely manner. Great intent and best efforts do not a vehicle move. - Forget it! - After being personally recommended, DAS was contacted for a quote. A professional sounding gentleman answered the inquiry. “Bob London” he called himself and went onto explain that DAS is a carrier, not a broker. He took his time laying out the entire transportation process in detail. The price he provided was $300 less than that of the brokers! He understood the need for the vehicle to be available at the destination prior to pickup. He suggested, for an additional fee, utilizing DAS’s Fast Track Service. His suggestion was warranted. The expedited service not only reduced the time the vehicle remained in transit, it also was available when I got to the destination. Gettin' My Groove On -> Stylin' Scion
