My car did arrive in good shape. But, there are major communication problems with DAS.
At T minus 1 day, there automated phone system said my car would not be delivered for another 8 days. This caused me to be alarmed. I tried to reach a person through the phoen system, and was placed on hold for more than 20 mins. Eventually, I had a meeting to attend, and had to hang up.
The next day, I learned my car would only be two days late. While "on hold" with a DAS person (female), my call somehow got forwarded to the voice mail of a male. Took another 15 mins to reach another person!
When my car got close, and was supposedly at "Scotties Auto Wrecker" (nice name of a company to use for shipping cars), DAS told me I had to call Scotties directly. Okay, no worries. First person I talked to sounded like he was from Mars. No knowledge of anything. I called back about 10 mins later, and person who answered said the other fellow didn't know what he was talking about. But, they still did not know if they had my car. A truck was being unloaded, and they were not sure if my car was on the truck. At this point, DAS had not idea where my car was, and it was a day after the scheduled delivery date.
The car did arrive in fine shape, only two days late. Terms of my contract called for reimbursement of $50 / day for each day late. It has been more than a week, and no money has come my way. I just called them. After a 12 minute wait, spoke to a lady who claimed by credit card would be sent the $100 due back. She stated the customer must call to request the reimbursement, because their system is not set up to alert them when a care has been delivered late. Wow, I wonder how many people forget to call in the midst of a major move.
To me, DAS stands for "No So Dependable Auto Shippers".
