Dayany Transport

I used this company if you want to call it that to ship my elderly parent’s car from Massachusetts to Florida. I booked thru a company called Progressive Auto Relocation and the quote was for 700.00. I paid a deposit of 150.00 I was given the drivers name Amaudy and phone number. I called him to find out when he would pick up the vehicle. Benny from Progressive originally told me that the car would probably be picked up Friday Evening. I called Amaudy on Thursday and was told it would probably be on Saturday.

Saturday Morning arrived and Amaudy called me so say he was about an hour away. Two hours later I get a phone call that he is down the street. I drove the car to meet him and after I saw the condition of the truck he was driving and what the vehicles looked like I had my misgivings about letting him take the car looking back on it I wish I had just told him thanks but no thanks. I gave him the keys to the car and a gratuity for picking the car up and I confirmed my Father’s information and the fact that my Father would give him a check for the balance of 550.00 when he arrived in Florida He loaded the car up and stated the car would arrive in Florida Monday or Tuesday around 12pm.

I received a call from my Father Tuesday evening and I was very upset after hearing what he told me. When Amaudy arrived the price for him to deliver the vehicle had gone from the agreed upon price of 550 to 600. Then when my father attempted to give him a check Amaudy stated it had to be cash. When my father mentioned that the banks were closed and he could not get cash Amaudy then stated he would not back in the area til Saturday and it would cost more to get the car released from their custody. My Father then stated that Amaudy would have to take the car as he didn’t have that amount in Cash. Mysteriously at this point in the transaction Amaudy agreed to take the check.

After hearing about this second hand I immediately called Amaudy and voiced my displeasure with the fact that he had shook down an elderly man and charged him 50 dollars more. I also mentioned I would be calling Benny Soto from Progressive to explain what had transpired.

I left a message for Mr. Soto explaining what had happened, and when another number showed up on my caller ID. I thought it was Mr. Soto and I picked up and it was a woman with a thick accent from Dayany stating her driver had called her and said there was a problem. When I tired to explain to her what happened she became enraged and started telling me I was confused. When I told her that Progressive had taken a 150.00 deposit from me she stated “your wrong they only take a 100.00 deposit” When I offered to email her a copy of the receipt she said there was no need, and then when I mentioned the conversation with Amaudy and the check situation she mentioned that they only take cash. When I mentioned the extra money she became enraged and stated “We are a big company we don’t need to rip off some old man for 50.00” At this time I told her the conversation was over and I had left a message with Mr. Soto and I would speak with him further about the matter.

Mr. Soto called me back shortly after and stated he would refund the amount back on my Credit Card and he apologized for Dayany Transport’s behavior.

I had packed some items in the car for my parents when it arrived in Florida. My Father called me after unpacking the car to inform that me that the car had been \ gone thru and some items had been moved around and a couple of boxes had been opened and apparently looked thru. I guess I should consider myself fortunate that Dayany Transport only shook down my elderly Father and didn’t steal any our valuables.

I would recommend avoiding Dayany Transport at all costs.
