D.A. Auto Transport contacted me the same day that I was told Amerifreight found a carrier to ship my vehicle from Texas to Florida. The problem was that I had a very hard time communicating with this company as english was not their primary language. The dispatcher who called me spoke broken english and she was not able to put in words what she needed to tell me about where my vehicle would be picked up. She said she would call me back. She did not, so I tried calling her. I got an answering machine with a child's voice on it every time I called, not a business name. When we finally spoke again she told me the name of a street nearby where I was to meet the carrier truck and at what time. I was there at the appointed time, but the truck was not. So, I called the dispatcher back and she told me the truck was at the end of my street, not where she told me to go. I quickly had to rush home so the truck would not leave. When I got to where the truck was I discovered the driver spoke ZERO english, not even a little. As he was marking up the form that I was expected to sign, I had questions, but he only said "No English." So, I gave my car to the carrier, no questions asked- I wanted to know if he was driving it the whole way or if it was changing trucks, and to question all the damages he marked my vehicle as having.
I understand that not everyone speaks perfect english, but it is very hard to do business at the rate of over $500 with someone who you are trusting your car to, and they speak absolutely no english.
Although the car was picked up and delivered basically on time, I would not do business with this company again due to the language barrier.
