The car was damaged

This is the first time we used this company. We got an impression by speaking with Tom Henderson on the phone that this company is experienced in transporting car from Austin to New York/ New Jersey and under a normal circumstance, the car should be delivered to our door in Brooklyn within 5 to 7 days. With great disappointment, nothing Tom said came true. It took exactly 14 days for the car to be delivered. When the driver picked up the car in Austin, I was told that that I will receive a delivery notice 36 hours before the car is delivered.

On exactly the 14th day after the car was picked up in Austin, I got a call tonight at 9:40pm and was told that the car will be delivered in 45 minutes and I need to be ready to pick it up. It took the driver more than an hour to get to my place, and it was raining heavily. The driver also said we need to sign a piece of paper, which turned out to be another contract. After we parked the car, we discovered that the tail light was damaged, which we had just replaced the day before the pick up. When we looked at the paper that we just signed more carefully, we discovered that instead of just saying the car was dirty, which was pointed out in the original contract, there is description of scratches on both side of the car.

Cross Country has no management power over its subcontractors, who unfortunately, are dishonest. I was expecting the car to be delivered 7 days ago and when I spoke with the driver last week, he said they hit the snow storm in Virginia and got stuck there. Then for a whole week, they did not return any phone calls and all of a sudden they show up late at a rainy night to deliver the car, which it is damaged. No scenario can be worst than this.

We feel cheated and do not recommend anyone to use this company.
