I was reffered to Cross Country Auto Transport by a dealer in Georgia as a licenced, bonded , direct carrier of autos that they have used. I contacted them and received a 1 page fax requesting a deposit , which I paid . Four days before the schduled pick up I received the original which had a page 2 attached , deffining them as a " Broker" not the carrier. I imeadiatly called the dealer to cancell the transaction , they too were surprised and said that is not how the company was represented to them. They contacted Gill at Cross Country who said that their contract reads that way because they on occasion need to have the auto co-transported by other companies when going to Alaska or Hawaii. I myself called Gill and he assured me of this and said that in my case they would be hauling the auto. Three days latter the car was opicked up by Auto Transport Solutions ( another review) on the 17th and delivered to RI at approximatly 2:30 pm Saturday? pretty fast given mine was the first car on the truck so I assume others were on it and needed to be delivered first, must have been flying and or careless , thus the damage . The auto was delivered with $2128 in damage admitted by driver as a result of a chain falling from the secongd level and hitting trunk. At this point Cross Country ran and hid, returned absolutly no phone calls to me or assisted in getting paid for damages . I would absolutly not use these people , they will lie to get the buisness and then they are gone when it is time to stand behind a problem.
