Good Service, but questionable choice of carrier.

When I first asked for a quoted Michelle had informed me that it would cost $1085. That was a bit more than my budget. After speaking with Michelle on the phone, she was able to give me a quote of $965. The next day (a Monday), Michelle called me and said a carrier wanted to pick up my car but for $50 more. Since I did not know when the next available pick-up date would be I agreed, so the final quote was $1015.

Michelle was very helpful and knowledgeable with my transport. However, as my car was being picked up I had to call Cascade several times as we were trying to figure out the details of the pickup. There were several occasions where I was placed on hold when I didn't even say ,"Hello" yet before I was able to speak with Michelle. After my car was picked up, I called once more during the middle of shipping period just to check an update on the whereabouts of my vehicle. I was told at first that Michelle was out of the office for the day, and was asked to hold as they tried to figure out where my car was. About two minutes later, Michelle answered. This miscommunication of information, though minute, didn't add up and seemed a little weird to me. But, as a student majoring in business and hospitality, these minute details distinguish 5-star service from 4-star or 3-star service. Cascade claims to give 5-star service. I'm not sure they are quite there. However, even with that said, Michelle was very accommodating as I had some trouble with the driver regarding pickup. She offered 3-way calling with the driver to ensure that all parties were on the same page. I really appreciated this as the driver was not the friendliest person to talk to.

Because this is a customer-service review, I will not go into detail about the pickup experience I had to endure while my car was being dropped off. It was definitely not door-to-door as promised. My car was dropped off in Ithaca almost 2 miles from my dorm. I understand that the driver does not represent Cascade, however, I just hope that if I choose Cascade to ship my car back to Seattle upon graduation, that they choose a more reliable shipping carrier.
