Cascade was slow in finding a carrier for my car, and i was moving out of state. finally they found one, but failed to inform me that the original quote had been raised. only until i was ready to pick my car up after transport did they inform me of the higher quote (i had called them to check how things were going!). this was after i had already made out a cashier's check. i could not retrieve my car without paying the shipper what they asked for. now, Cascade refuses to accept responsibility and will not let us speak to the owner. Interesting lack of communication...lax employees. Must constantly make sure the original quote is still honored, because they may raise the cost anytime without notification!!!

Tasneen and Dr. Sheikh, The reason we had difficulty finding a carrier is because you wanted us to quote the same price as the last time you transported your vehicle in December, even though we advised against it and said it will be difficult. You set up this transport on the 27th of August. Your vehicle was picked up on the 9th like you wanted it to be. However, as it states in our terms and conditions: Due to changing and unpredictable market conditions, seasonal weather, traffic, mechanical difficulties and fluctuating gas prices, Cascade Vehicle Shipping, Inc. quotes are valid for 10 days. After 10 days, please call for an updated rate. Your vehicle was picked up 10 days after the original quote, so when a trucking company could not be found, Tasneem told our rep to increase the price to find a carrier for your pick up on the specific date so she could fly home. A truck was found, your vehicle was picked up. When you called in last week, we instructed you as the parent that the conversation between our rep and your daughter was between the two of them for the price increase. Regardless, the trucking company was to make 800 for their transport and you had to pay that or the vehicle would be put in storage. When the truck called you to deliver today you were suprised that you owed that amount even though we had talked about it last week. The truck driver was instructed to collect 800 or put the vehicle in storage, no matter what your original quote stated because that quote was no longer valid. It states in our terms and conditons about payment to the truck: Deposit information is collected at the time a carrier has been assigned. The deposit may be paid via PayPal, credit card, bank wire or electronic check. There is a 3% transaction fee applied to PayPal and credit card transactions. There is no fee for electronic checks. Although deposit information is collected at the time a carrier is assigned, the deposit will not be collected until it has been verified that the vehicle has been loaded onto the transport vehicle and is in route to the designated delivery location. Payment to the carrier is due upon delivery. Unless other arrangements have been made ahead of time, payment will be made with cash, cashier’s check or money order. Should delivery be attempted after proper notification (2 to 24 hours in advance to phone number provided) and the shipper (or agent) is 1) unavailable to receive delivery, 2) does not have the proper funds, or 3) refuses delivery of the vehicle, carrier will transport the vehicle to a nearby storage facility until the matter can be resolved. Shipper (or agent) will be responsible for any accumulated storage fees, redelivery fees, etc. Cascade is not refusing to accept responsibilty. Our job is to arrange for transportation of the vehicle as it states in our terms and condtions: Cascade Vehicle Shipping, Inc. is an agent for you. We arrange for the transportation of the vehicle by finding an appropriate carrier. We do not own trucks or physically transport the vehicle. Our services end when the carrier is assigned and contacts you regarding pickup and delivery of the vehicle. We also never said that you could not speak with the owner, but he has to be in the office to speak with you. That is why there is management, because this is an issue that he really does not have to deal with, the managers do. He would tell you the same thing that the manager of Cascade has told you. Read your terms and conditions. Your original quote would have been honored if transportation was found for that price, but we did notify you of the increase before the vehicle was picked up. Tasneem released the vehicle on the 9th with personal belongings which they did not charge you for and then the driver delivered 4 days ahead of schedule. From that point of pick up you are in contract with the shipper, not Cascade to pay them the balance for the transport. We wish you well and hope your day gets better.
