Pretty Good Over All, but not Perfect

First, the good news: They were prompt about submitting a bid and good about discussing their bid with me by telephone. Also, their pricing was favorable. The car was picked up promptly and delivered promptly, in good condition (except for some travel dirt). Perhaps this is all an auto shipper can hope for. However, there is much room for improvement in the consistency of their communications with this customer.

The facts: I requested a bid on Thursday and we had a contract on Friday. Great! Within a couple of hours they notified me that the order had been assigned to a truck, that the estimated pickup date was Monday (the first day I indicated the car would be ready for shipment) and the estimated delivery date was Thursday. Great again! Then, on Monday, a second email stated that the estimated pickup date was now Tuesday (no problem for me) but the estimated delivery date was still Thursday. No problem for me.

However, when I called Cascade late Tuesday afternoon to confirm that the car had, in fact, been picked up and that we were still scheduled for a Thursday delivery, I was unable to speak to my contact, Monica, although I soon received a new email from her stating that the estimated pickup date was now Wednesday, but the estimated delivery date was still Thursday. As I found a Wednesday pickup in New Jersey on Wednesday and a delivery in Wisconsin on Thursday a bit difficult to believe, I called Monica back to inquire about this schedule. Again, Monica was not available to speak to me, but my substitute contact indicated that Monica must have made an error in her email and that the the estimated delivery date should have been changed to Friday. Later on Wednesday, however, I received another email from Monica indicating that the car had, in fact, been picked up (the sender advised me that it had been picked up on Tuesday) and that the estimated delivery date was still Thursday.

Hoping that this confusion was now behind us, I sent an email to Monica on Wednesday afternoon asking whether the driver would be contacting me about his estimated arrival time on Thursday or whether I should plan to call the driver on Thursday to ask him for an ETA. When I received no response to my email, I called Monica again on Thursday morning. Again, no Monica. My "new" substitute contact gave me the name and phone number of the driver to contact. However, when I called that driver, I learned that he was not the one transporting my car. I then called my "new" substitute contact again and got the name and phone number of the correct driver to contact.
I then made contact with the driver, but that is another story (and another review), and this concluded Cascade's involvement with my shipment.

Yes, the car was picked up promptly. Yes, it was delivered promptly. Yes, the car was delivered in good condition. But, no, the communication between Cascade and me, their customer, could have stood a lot of improvement.

Stephen, We are so sorry to hear about all the confusion. Monica has not been in the office for a few days. When you receive an email from her, it is actually a computer generated email with her name on it. I am so sorry for all this confusion. We will correct this for the future.
