Did not find a truck for me, left me out to dry with 2 days left

This was my first time moving a car, and I did my homework to understand how it works. I ended up choosing a broker, knowing that they worked to bid for a truck to move my car. My rep, Rebecca Ruppel, quoted me to move my Chevy Tahoe at $1120 ($905 to the truck, $215 broker fee). Knowing that my price was merely a bid and not a certainty, I asked whether she would be confident at shipping my car at that price, and she assured me that it would be ok.

When the time to ship my car approached, I emailed with a couple questions and got slow (more than 24 hr turnaround) response. Upon calling during my targeted ship date to get a status update, I found that Rebecca was out of the office and out for 2 days, which was not what I wanted to hear knowing that I only had a couple days left to ship my car before I had to move out! I found out the hard way that Cascade had not been able to get a truck for my car and was forced to scramble. On the positive side, the gentleman named Damon that did help me was understanding and tried to assist me and let me know what was going on.

Ultimately, I cannot fault Cascade for not finding a truck for my car as I could have bid more and may have not run into this issue, but I cannot recommend them because they had given me a false sense of security that my price was good enough to get a truck, and because of the poor communication they gave me through the bid process. If I had not called, I likely would never have heard anything and never had an opportunity to find another option or to increase my bid. Also, Rebecca had communicated with me saying that she would be in touch throughout the truck-finding process, but disappeared for her weekend (which occurs during the weekday) without any warning. I ended up having to pay $1500 with another carrier for expedited service - they told me that $1300ish is the market rate, and I never had a chance to move the car at the $1120 that Cascade quoted me, and I had to pay extra to get the car moved with such short notice after Cascade fell through.
