I had researched Cascade Vehicle Shipping online through the Better Business Bureau and through transport reviews and liked what I saw. The price quote I received was very reasonable. There was only one company that gave me a lower price, and they stated there would be a fuel surcharge and I couldn't find info for them with the Better Business Bureau.

My customer service representative was very helpful to me. She worked hard around my time-specific needs. However, I have two complaints. At the very last minute, the driver who was supposed to pick up my car cancelled, and I had to drive the car myself to a deliveryman's house on my way to the airport. Because the original driver cancelled, I was told it would take longer for my car to ship, which it did.

When I went to pick my car up at the port in Kahului, I had to wait an hour because Cascade Vehicle Shipping hadn't paid Matson yet. I paid Cascade in the middle of November, and on Jan. 2 Matson hadn't received funds. The people at the Matson office told me this was very common. Once representatives from Cascade were available, that situation was rectified. However, I was penalized for their tardiness and missed an appointment.

Also, they instruct you that the car must be completely empty. I had forgotten a couple items in the glove compartment, so had assumed they would be thrown away (I was told this again by the driver whose house I had to go to). When I checked my glove box after picking my car up, everything was there that I had left except for an expensive item. Yes, it was my fault that I left it, but the item was so obviously stolen since everything that was supposed to be thrown out hadn't been. It makes me question the quality of people they contract with.
