The driver for this company (who is the owner!) arrived to our dealership to pick up a 2011 BMW, but he did not have a truck or trailer. We asked where his truck was and he said it was parked "3 miles" away. That wasn't a big deal, but we told him that we would drive our BMW to his truck for him to load, making this convenient for him. Our customer wanted a picture of his car being loaded in the trailer, so we needed to go to his truck anyway. He said ok and then walked outside. 45 minutes go by and the driver never came back. We called the company and spoke to an unfriendly woman (who was the drivers wife!) and asked when the driver was returning. She said, "he's not coming back! You guys thought we were trying to steal your car!" We were completely shocked and couldn't be more mad. This is not how any company should handle their business! We asked why would't he tell us that he was not returning, and they had no explanation. I then spoke to the driver and told him how unprofessional he was and that we would be sending a complaint to dispatch, and his response was a laugh! He said go ahead and try! He was confident that he would get the complaint removed (which IT WAS REMOVED and that's why I am making the complaint known on this site). People need to know what to expect with this company.
Berthoud Fair Deal Autos was a complete waste of time! Because of their actions, our customer was nervous to have his car shipped and he decided to make his own arrangements. We researched this company, and on top of all the complaints, they have an F rating with the BBB. If we were aware of this from the beginning, we would never have trusted them with a $55,000 vehicle. For the driver to leave unexpectedly for no reason leads us to believe that he was lying and hiding something that we would have found out if we drove our car to his truck. Why else would a shipping company have a problem with this?!? Who's car was the shipper driving anyway? One of the cars that he is suppose to ship for someone else? Hmmm...Bottom line, this company does not care about their reputation which is why they continue to conduct bad business and disregard complaints. I can't understand how they are still in business! In the end, we are very lucky that they did not transport our car, who knows that would have happened. Stay far, far away from Berthoud UNFAIR Deal Autos!!!!
