When I first called AUtotrail Transporters located in NY on a Friday, the woman was very pleasant and very nice. She asked me as to where I am transporting my car which was from VA to CA. She then said that they can pick up my car on Tuesday the next week for sure because they have availability. SHe specifically emphasized that I should book it right away and give them the deposit to guarantee the pick up date of Tuesday. She also emphasized that they take credit cards but also take check by giving them my routing number and account number. I told her that I will think it over after she had quoted me the shipping price (since I wanted to compare quotes with the others). She then said that I should call them write away because or else someone else will take my spot and will not be guaranteed that Tuesday pick up. Well, I trusted this woman being nice and booked it. They told me to pay $500 as downpayment but tried to pressure me by paying the full amoutn of $1025; however, I didn't feel right giving them my full money without the service being returned. Well, they never picked up my car that Tuesday. I have called them every single day ever since that Tuesday confirming if my car will be picked up and their answer was that the driver is delayed coming from Florida. Well, that was a lie because this company do not own their trucks and they are brokers who contract with drivers to pick up a car. There was no driver available to pick up my car. As a matter of fact, their voice of pleasantess changed when I asked them why the driver was late. They basically even hanged up the phone on me because they didn't want to deal with my question. PLEASE< DO NOT GO THROUGH THEM. THEY WILL CAUSE YOU STRESS BECAUSE THEY WILL NEVER PICK UP YOUR CAR TO WHAT THEY GUARANTEED TO YOU AS PICK UP DATE. THe good reviews on this company got lucky that their route is so simple and short that there are more drivers going that way. But if you are doing it cross country, don't go through them. THEY ARE RUDE AND ONLY OUT THERE TO GET YOUR MONEY AND TRY TO KEEP YOUR $250. If somehow you still fee that they are worthwhile, just make sure that you put it on your credit card with only a small deposit and to make sure to cancel the order if they never pick up your car to the date promised. I MADE SURE THAT I GOT MY $500 back and my credit card company was on my side.
