The subject title here gives a peek into my great experience with Carlos Meffe @ Auto Star Transport. We had to ship a restored classic from Texas to Illinois. We wanted to keep the costs down, but after talking with Carlos on the phone we were completely sold on him. Auto Star was not the cheapest quote we received by about $85. Carlos was the one coordinator that seemed conscientious toward the entire project and everybody involved. First off Carlos was the only one who actually followed up his quote and contacted us with a phone call. That showed us he was diligent and seriously interested in our business. We had to contact the other shippers ourselves which raised some red flags. Carlos's attitude calmed some of our concerns. Carlos was consistently like this through our entire experience, and more! Excellent! He is very friendly of course, but in the end he really comes through with flying colors in the way he worked with the drivers, the dealership and especially us. We will contact him and refer him any time we do this again. Here's the short story... We worked him hard due to the complications that came up with the bank, and some indecisions we had as we processed the transport. In all of the complications Carlos was very professional, courteous without hesitation, respectful, polite, completely accommodating, fair, and especially honest. We set up the pick up the first time, but the bank delayed the paperwork... he had to cancel the driver. Then the second time, again the bank still could not get their act together and then they wanted an inspection done? Plus, we became nervous about oil leaking onto the new rag top or trees scratching the paint in an open trailer... so we changed over to a closed transport. He had to cancel the second driver. Still being very patient. Finally the funds came through, the car was ready, surprise inspections by the bank were done. He set up the third driver with complete patience, complete ongoing contact, found an excellent shipping company and never raised the price a dime. Plus the enclosed transport only added $355! That's amazing! I wish I could say more but I'm sure this has become too long already. Carlos and his dispatch team from Auto Star are excellent. He stuck by our side through every ordeal that came up. (OUR FAULTS) Him and his team consistently contacted us through the whole process start to end. The car was delivered on time, in perfect condition. Thanks Carlos Meffe Tim & Beth W.
