I paid AutoStar to transport my car from Florida to California. $450 deposit (this payment) and $1000 cash on delivery. My car was arrived damage. The truck driver was shown the damage before he left. Driver also has video showing no damage to car before the move. AutoStar refused to help even though their agreement was to handle the claim themselves. See below for their terms: I took the car to the dealer and they quote me $195 to repair the damage. Autostar refused to reimburse me despite the terms on their website. Autostar refusal to help caused me a lot of grief. I also have to take time off to take the car to the dealer for estimate and for the repair.

AutoStar Transport Express is very sorry that the customer has some alleged damage to the vehicle that was transported. As we explained to customer on several occasions, and in accordance to the signed contract received from customer, we are merely the broker, and are NEVER liable for any damage done. The carrier is the sole responsible party in any kind of damage claim. This is the standard in the industry. We advised customer that because he reported the damage more than 48 hours after delivery, and because no damage was marked on the bill of lading at delivery, filing a damage claim in this case would be futile. We provided the customer with carrier information, and their insurance information. We also spoke with the carrier, who insists they did not cause any damage to the vehicle, and because no damage was marked by the customer at time of delivery, they would not accept responsibility. We have done all that we can do in a case like this, since no damage was noted at time of delivery and because the customer had possession of the vehicle for 48 hours before reporting damage.
