AutoStar less than honest

Lessons Learned: NEVER sign a contract BEFORE AutoStar has an assigned driver! Bottom line, they changed their story AFTER I signed the contract. I lost my deposit, and AutoStar would not rectify the loss.

Customer has of course left out key details which has led to the decision of a no refund of her deposit. On 07/08, customer was informed by one of our trained coordinators exactly how the transportation process works. On 07/12, customer booked their order and set the first available release date for 07/25. Customer requested to have this picked up before 07/30 and not delivered before 07/31. Customer again was explained the process, and assured her we would accommodate her requested schedule. Contract was sent, and customer read, signed and returned contract on 07/12. The very same day customer booked her order, and returned the signed contract, she started inquiring with other brokers. WHY would you sign a contract, and then immediately start looking for other brokers a full two weeks before your ship date?? We have moved hundreds of vehicles to Key West and have a great relationship with a very reliable carrier that moves vehicles from the Miami area to Key West, even providing us with FREE storage. All of this was clearly explained to the customer, attempting to reassure and convince the customer we would get her vehicle moved. On 07/18, customer booked with another broker. Multi brokering is counterproductive to getting a vehicle transported. All it does is drive the price up and scare carriers away because they are not going to commit to a load unless they are 100% sure the vehicle has not already been picked up by another broker when they arrive. On 07/22, a full 3 days ahead of her first available release date, and 8 days ahead of her last available pickup date, the customer cancelled. Again, we attempted to reassure the customer that we have completed this route for MANY a vehicles in the past, and would do so for her. Our contract is very clear, and was explained to customer, that if you cancel prior to your first available release date, your deposit is non-refundable. Customer threatened us with bad reviews if we did not refund her deposit. We will NOT be bullied, or blackmailed with threats of bad reviews when we are well within our rights. We were nothing but honest, upfront, and straightforward with this customer. We wish her well.
