Poor Service and Communication

We were mislead by the representative about the availability of carriers in this area at this time. We were not contacted for 8 days after signing the contract and, after trying to reach Mr. Thain, we still didn't receive much information about the move date . He alluded that he was having such difficulty in finding a carrier and that we should consider offering more money. We were leaving the area, which he knew, so were very concerned about this problem. I was so upset with this lack of service that I contacted more booking agents via internet and received many quotes and PROMPT service within hours, on shipping the car; no delays or excuses, and paid almost the same amount. AutoStar Transport/Logistics refused to return our deposit after such poor service after I contacted Mark, the manager.

We appreciate all feedback with regards to the service level of AutoStar Transport and Logistics, and try to find positive ways to improve. However, when someone has maligned the facts in such a case as this, it is hard to take away anything positive. Customer placed their order on 02/20/2014, with a first available ship date of 03/03/2014. We offer a full money back guarantee if no carrier is located within 10 business days from the first available date. This is very standard in the industry. Customer had requested that we find a carrier before 03/08/2014, which we were working towards doing, before the customer contacted other brokers and began a bidding war for the carriers. Of course a carrier saw this vehicle listed by another broker for a higher price, and called them. Wouldnt you? Customer complains that we did not secure a carrier prior to the first available date, but does not understand after repeated attempts to explain, that carriers do not book loads too far in advance because of the constant change in their schedules. There is no surprise that the customer was able to facilitate a pickup so quickly, since carriers start building their loads closer to or just after the first available date. We would have done the same, but were not given a fair chance to do so. On 03/05/2014, only the second day of the contract customer canceled their order. Customer even acknowledges that they misunderstood what they were reading on the signed contract with regards to the first available date. No one misled the customer in anyway, in fact just the opposite, we were misled by the customer into thinking we would be given a fair chance to arrange transport for them, and not contact other brokers and cancel their order after only 2 days! AutoStar Transport and Logistics, is a 5 star rated transport broker who has successfully arranged transport for thousands of satisfied customers in our nearly 7 years of business. We will continue our goal to provide a stellar 5 star service to everyone who gives us the chance to do so.
