MISLEADING practices....

AutoStar transport not only mislead me as to the length of time that it would take to ship my vehicle, but also hired a company that was ill-equipped to properly handle my request. David Conrad specifically said, "after the Jeep makes it on to the transport trailer that it would take no more than 48 hours to deliver." Well that was only David trying to get me to sign a contract with his company, which is really only a broker that contracts your request out to other brokers or shippers local to your pick up city. Autostars' guarantees mean nothing to the actual shipper! Do yourself a favor and don't use this company since they can't help you at all when something does go wrong. They remained largely uninformed for ten days while I waited "on call" for my Jeep. Clearly they were unprepared for such a situation. Another suggestion would be to try to make them put a specific pick up date and delivery date on the contract BEFORE you sign (which they won't), otherwise legally they have up to 30 DAYS to get you the vehicle. Get it in writing! Not surprised when they don't, just call some local shipping companies in the city where you are having the vehicle picked upXXXthat's all they are going to do. At least then YOU will get to pick the company that will be responsible for moving your car or truck, and the terms. Using AutoStar transport caused me undo worry and cost me valuable time. Learn from my experience... they were not worth it.

First of all, I would like to start off by apologizing to Mr. Boorhem for the unfortunate set of circumstances surrounding his transport. However, at no time was he misled by David Conrad, or any other representative of AutoStar Transport. After confirming the pick up and delivery dates for this transport through the carrier, David relayed that information to Mr. Boorhem. This is a very short route, and the carrier's estimated delivery time was within 48 hours. Furthermore, Mr. Boorhem was kept apprised of the situation with constant updates not only from our office, but from the carrier as well. Also, from the beginning, our pickup policy was made very clear to Mr. Boorhem - that we normally operate with a 2 week lead time, but if he marked the vehicle as ready to go, then we would pick it up as soon as a carrier in the area became available. Mr. Boorhem placed the order and signed the contract on 11/26 - a contract that SPECIFICALLY states we had until 12/12 to pick up the vehicle. A carrier was located and assigned that very same day, and the vehicle was picked up the following day (11/27). Unfortunately, the carrier ran into problems with their driver, who unexpectedly quit his job. This did result in a delay of the delivery, yet the vehicle still arrived at the destination several days before the pick up dates had even expired! We are sorry for the delay of the actual delivery of the vehicle, but the entire transport did fall well within the terms to which Mr. Boorhem agreed.
