great customer service but late delivery

After much research I chose Auto Transport 123 because of my contact with Evan. Evan contacted me from info I submitted online while searching for quotes. I told Evan what my need was and the time frame needed for delivery & he was up front and honest with me that he may not be able to facilitate my move and couldn't be of service. Evan offered to list my vehicle on the central dispatch to see if he could find a driver willing to do the job in my time frame but, again, reassured me that he didn't think he would be able to facilitate my move in the time frame & price range I was looking for. Evan never solicited a deposit from me. My price range was $850(total) looking for a Thursday pick up and Monday delivery. A day later Evan contacted me & said he had gotten a message from a driver who could do the job for $850 plus $100 for Evan. Pick up was Thur 3/31/11 delivery was promised by Monday 4/4/11. Pick up was on time with absolutely no problems.

On Sunday 4/3/11 I received a call from the driver confirming that he would arrive on time & would deliver my vehicle before noon on that Monday 4/4/11. However, around 10am on delivery day, the driver calls & says he was delayed due to high winds in Texas & wouldn't arrive until Monday evening around 5pm. I was fine with that. Then around 4pm the driver calls me & claimed to have mechanical issues with his truck & had to go to a weigh station to repair a fan belt that went out on him & wouldn't be able to get to me until midnight. This was an inconvenience. I then contacted Auto Transport 123 because I had had enough of the excuses & felt like delivery on Tuesday was known from the beginning. I spoke with Evan, obviously upset & frustrated & unable to rent a vehicle by this point. He assured me he would look into it & I heard nothing back from him & the driver no longer took my calls NOR did he show up by midnight either. I was now committed to paying $950 for delivery of my truck when I was quoted less money by other companies who told me they couldn't deliver that Monday either but on Tuesday(the day my vehicle finally arrived). The next day I finally reached Evan totally upset & advised him I still had not been able to reach the driver who had not arrived at all. I asked if there would be a discount and Evan claimed he would take care of it. I didn't hear back from Evan by the time the driver had arrived(approx 1pm Tue) & the driver, of course, wasn't discounting any part of the price and said he wasn't late delivering my vehicle.
Long story short, you can research through and through as I have & still run into a problem because end result relies on the driver. My contact, Evan, at Auto Transport 123 was very polite & wasn't pushy for my business. He only took my credit card info after I agreed to book with the driver & the payment wasn't processed until after my vehicle had been picked up. I WOULD recommend Evan to others because of his great customer service & attempts at being up front and honest. I don't believe the driver ever broke down during the delivery of my vehicle, but I have no proof of this. Further more, the driver told me he didn't even leave Atlanta until that Saturday, which makes me believe that he never planned to arrive on Monday. But, Auto Transport 123 has no control over this, so I would recommend them & just expect a possible 24hr delay. Evan was great to work with and I believe he will be straight forward with you.
