Failure to perform

On Oct 30, 2008, I contracted with Auto Shippers of America to pick up and transport my personal vehicle from Texas to Virginia. Notified Auto Shippers that we would depart for Virginia on November 20, 2008 and my car must be picked up by November 17. Was told by Debbie "no problem". Was called so after by Debbie and notified the total cost must go up $100 since my car was a van. A tentative pickup date was set at November 15. Again reminded ASA that we would depart for Virginia on November 20th. November 15 came and passed and my car was still with me. Contacted Debbie on November 17 who suggested I leave my car with a neighbor or relative. I told her I had no relatives nearby and no close friends I could trust with my car. I was called on November 19 by Mr Gross, ASA who said a pickup had been arranged. (We were in the packing and loading onto the moving van phase of our move). I notified Mr Gross I had contacted another mover. Being totally disgusted with my treatment by ASA, I cut the phone call short.

"failure to perform" as Mr. Fitzgerald puts it, could not be further from the truth and is as inaccurate as his other comments. He had choices and selected the least expensive level of service, not always the fastest. The contract that he himself filled out indicates the first date of availability for pick up as the 17th. When I called him on the 18th, not the 19th as he states, it was to advise that ASA had dispatched his car for pick up. He was nasty and hung up on me! He characterizes this action as " he cut the phone call short". Based upon the date he provided, ASA did a great job for him. I understand being stressed when moving, but that does not allow him to negate the truth.
